Red to White
by Patricia A Pitterle
Snow white,
glistening, gleaming, floating, fleeting
softly falling down.
Covering the world
In a blanket of freezing whiteness.
All traces of the world as we know it
brushed away
In a coat of sparkling white.
Each time I see a snowfall
I stop to pause
and remember
How we have been promised
that our sins
though red as scarlet
can be changed
to be white as snow
A Father sent a Son
to be the way
that would bring us safely home.
He came to be the sacrifice
And with His blood
All traces of worldly scarlet
bathed away
In a coat of sparkling love
Love this poem...very nice. I named my daughter Scarlett...and I remind her that this is the color that Christ will be wearing when he returns to the earth! Now she likes to remind me of that fact!
ReplyDeleteVery thought provoking. And the snow, so pretty! Happy New Year!
